You Don’t Have to See the Whole Path

You don’t have to see the whole path. A gentle reflection on trusting God with the next step and finding courage to begin.

There is something unsettling
about beginnings.

We want certainty.

We want to know
where the path leads,
whether it will work,
whether we are making the right decision.

So we wait.

For more confidence.

More clarity.

One more sign
that we cannot miss.

But life rarely unfolds
that way.

More often,
God shows us enough light
for the next step.

Not the next year.

Not the whole journey.

Just…

today.

Perhaps that is why
faith is so often described
as walking.

Walking assumes movement.

Walking assumes
that you cannot see
everything ahead.

Walking simply asks you
to trust the ground
beneath your feet.

There have been many moments
when I wanted God
to hand me a map.

Instead,

He offered His presence.

At first,
that felt like less.

Over time,

I discovered
it was more.

Because a map tells you
where to go.

Presence reminds you
that you do not walk alone.

Maybe you are standing
at the beginning of something today.

A conversation.

A dream.

A season you did not choose.

A quiet hope
you have almost talked yourself out of.

You do not have to know
how the story ends.

You only need enough courage
to take the next faithful step.

And when tomorrow comes,

there will be enough grace
for that step too.

The whole path
has never been yours to carry.

Only this one.

What is one small step you can take today, trusting that God will meet you in the next one?
